Amherst- Fireseed Alliance, with 15 local town libraries, kicks off a six-week program to celebrate the Pulitzer Prize-winning classic The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck. Hosted by the town libraries of Amherst, Bedford, Bow, Brookline, Dunbarton, Greenfield, Greenville, Goffstown, Hollis, Lyndeborough, Merrimack, Milford, Mont Vernon, New Boston, and Wilton, there will be over 36 programs offered from book discussions to living history presenters, art, music, speakers on NH immigrant farmers, and much more. This event will take you back to the 1930’s featuring foot-stomping fiddling by Dudley and Jacqueline Laufman, prohibition stories by Frank Weber of Frajil Spirits and a special cocktail called Bee’s Knees. We will celebrate Steinbeck’s great American novel and party till the cows come home. The Grapes of Wrath Visits the Vineyard party is from 4-7 p.m. on Sept. 18 and will include refreshments, wine-tasting, cash bar, entertainment and good old fashioned community fun, all for the depression era price of $10. per person.
